What's your name and what do you do? My name is Yemisi Ayinde. I work in communications, focusing on creating meaningful connections between brands and the people they serve. I'm passionate about storytelling, strategy, and helping brands make a lasting, positive impact.
This year’s theme is all about #AcceleratingAction. What do you understand by this and how can we activate this in your respective space? #AcceleratingAction, to me, is about moving beyond conversations and taking bold, intentional steps to drive change. In my field, this means using communication as a powerful tool to spotlight important issues, amplify underrepresented voices, and create opportunities that uplift women both within and beyond the workplace.
Many women use fashion as a tool for building confidence. Can you share a time when a particular outfit choice made you feel especially empowered? Absolutely! I remember wearing a sharply tailored blazer and wide-leg trousers to an important presentation. That outfit made me feel unstoppable—like I was completely owning the room. Fashion has this incredible ability to reflect how we want to show up in the world, and that day, it helped me step fully into my confidence.
Looking ahead, what kind of world do you envision for future generations of women, and what role do you believe you can play in creating that reality? I envision a world where women are not just included but are leading, innovating, and thriving without limitations. A world where equality isn't a goal but a given.
I believe my role is to continue creating spaces where women's stories are told, their contributions are recognized, and their dreams are supported—whether that's through my work, mentorship, or simply showing up as my most authentic self.
